I think this game is a little to punishing. One way to combat that and lead to more strategy behind play styles is when you throw a ball to the side, not only does it not disappear, it gains an upward force and bounces back into the arena. That would lead to some intense moments of trying to get a few more dunks in while also trying to stop the other 10+ balls you have going from falling.
