Addicting Games Is 20 Years Old!

Did you know that September 20th is our platinum anniversary? That’s right, gamer friends, Addicting Games is celebrating 20 years of free, fun, flash, casual gaming as of September 20th! The last 20 years have been a wild ride of ups, downs, mergers, acquisitions, obstacles, opportunities, and accomplishments. Through two decades of gaming trends, we made many friends, published thousands of games, and wracked up tens of millions of plays. It has been a wild time for us and probably all of you at home. If you started playing Addicting Games by bypassing your library's firewall in the 5th grade, you are now older than our founders were when they had the idea to aggregate all the best games on the web and serve them up to players at no cost. 

From our humble beginnings as a simple portal site with a DIY attitude and Comic Sans logo to our current incarnation as an innovative studio and publisher, we here at Addicting Games remain laser-focused on providing you, the player, with good times, questionable grammar, and the best casual gaming experience available. Today we’re honoring the first 20 years of our existence with a look back at the most popular games in our new editorial section, a contest on our social feeds that will allow you and your friends to gain some cool Addicting Games branded swag, as well as a look at our brand new in-house game Apes.io. 

We’re keeping this months blog short, sweet, and to the point, because you’re not here to read about our founding, the billions of plays we racked up over the years, our obscure origins, or the inner workings of a modern game publisher. You’re here for the games, and that is something we are delivering on with our classic assortment of games, our editorial assortment of games, and our new in-house IOGames.
