This is a guide on how to play Flash games in 2021. The good news is we've already done all the work for you, if you were expecting a long-drawn-out point-by-point guide with steps and instructions on how to download software and where to install it, well, too bad! We've gone out of our way to make the re-implementation of Flash games into our catalog of new games and instant games as easy as possible for the user. We're all about accessibility. We heard you like Flash Games, we happen to have a lot of those, so, we've made it easier than ever for users to play our massive collection of classic Flash games. As for the bad news? Well, there isn't any! We're bringing back our entire catalog of Flash games and you can play them right now without any work on your end, just click around till you find your fave and game on, gamer. Remember "Alcatraz Escape" the classic escape game that our analytics say you just can't get enough of? Well, when Flash was officially declared dead on December 31 2020 you probably thought you had to kiss all that game goodbye, but alas! It's still here. They are all still here, still playable, and still as addicting as ever! Click here to play "Escape The Prison" then come back for more details on your favorite Flash games.
We are able to offer you the opportunity to play your favorite classic Flash games and even some that you might have missed the first time around through the implementation of a handy little emulator named Ruffle. Ruffle is a Flash emulator built in the Rust language which can run natively on basically all modern operating systems. If a web owner (like say us) were to install Ruffle on their site then all previously existing flash content would just magickally "work" exactly the way it was always supposed to but without any of the annoying lag of the original Flash. Now, the Ruffle website has a whole technical schpiel about how it all works and you're absolutely welcome to go read about how it works and why but honestly we just kind of skimmed it and walked away with the idea that its magick. As far as we're concerned a magician —possibly a relative of the install wizard— cast a spell on the internet and now Flash works again. Yay! Thanks Ruffle! We'll build several shrines in your honor and smite all who besmirch your name.
For the time being, we have a crack team of experts who are going through each of our games one by one and making sure they are compatible with Ruffle. So far we have about 30% of our catalog back online and ready to be played but that is just the beginning. In the coming days and weeks, you can expect a true resurrection of our old Flash games and who knows maybe some of your favorite classics will show up. For example, we already got "Fancy Pants" back up and ready to go, click here to experience Fancy Pants exactly the way you remember it. Every Flash game is either back up or on its way there. All those games you gave up on, forgot about, and still think about as you shuffle through job interviews, meetings, family reunions, Zoom calls, weddings, funerals, and the birth of your children: They're back! You can play them by just navigating our site like you normally would. We haven't made a special section for them or anything because they're all coming back exactly where you remember them. You'll be able to experience such classic games as Achievement Unlocked or Effing Worms exactly as they were supposed to be played. The only real difference now is that you won't have to worry about all the buggy, glitchy, slow loading, security problems that were inherent in the original Flash (RIP.)
Those of you in the know already know that we moved on from Flash a long time ago. We've been the premeire publisher of IOGames and HTML5 games for a few years now and were able to transition seamlessly from a market dominated by Actionscript and Flash games to a brave new world of desktop and mobile games. We evolved, we changed, and ultimately we were rewarded for our pivot. Evolution is a tricky process and we managed to ride the ebb and flows of market forces to find ourselves riding the crest of a wave that has brought casual games from the desktop to your pocket, and from a single-player hobby to a multiplayer experience. We've moved on from Flash —clearly— but that doesn't mean there isn't a place for classic Flash games in our inventory or in our player's lives. We know that people are still searching for classic Flash titles and we know that they are clicking around our site hoping to find them. Thanks to the invention of Ruffle we're able to offer gamers exactly what they want along with our cutting-edge new titles. We heard you like Flash Games, well, we have a bunch of Flash games, and we just want you to know that no matter where you are in your life or why you've decided you need to burn a night playing Clear Vision, we got your back.
Whether you're experiencing these games for the first time or taking a trigger-happy trip down memory lane you can be certain that Addicting Games is your one-stop shop for classic Flash Games and revolutionary new casual games. You can play hard, play to win, and play often. And for those of you who want to help out with the Ruffle project, take a look at how you can get involved as a coder, a tester, or just throw some cash and attention their way. Every little bit helps.
